Prior to starting Mowrey Law Firm, Mr. Mowrey attended Florida State University on a full scholarship to play football for the Seminoles. After graduation from FSU, Dan worked for two years at a national trucking company before attending and completing law school. His legal career began in 2000 when the Office of the State Attorney in the Seventh Circuit hired Dan as a prosecutor. After four years at the State Attorney’s Office, private practice called concentrating on guiding and advising individuals and small business through complex legal matters. In 2008 Dan became a founding partner in Mowrey, Shoemaker Beardsley, (“MSB”), a firm regarded by many in the area as one of St. Johns County’s most prestigious law firms. While at MSB, Mr. Mowrey primarily focused his practice on personal injury, criminal defense and complex civil matters. Combining his early years with the State Attorney’s Office with his many years of private practice, Dan has gleaned substantial trial experience, having tried over 50 jury and over 150 non-jury trials.

Rebecca Emert, Esq.
Rebecca is a seasoned trial lawyer equipped with the knowledge and skills required to successfully advocate for her clients both inside and outside of the courtroom. Whether it’s criminal defense, personal injury, or civil litigation, her legal background has given her the ability to handle complex cases and to help her clients navigate the judicial system.

Rebecca served as an Assistant State Attorney for over 10 years. As a prosecutor, she was assigned to the Career Criminal and Sex Crimes Unit where she handled many violent and sexually motivated offenses. Rebecca tried over 50 jury trials during that time, and was professionally recognized for her successful trial work by being awarded the Trial Top Gun Award by the State Attorney’s Office of the 7th Judicial Circuit.

Prior to starting her legal career, Rebecca obtained her undergraduate degree with honors from University of Florida in 2008. She earned her Juris Doctorate with honors from Florida State College of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011. Rebecca is deeply rooted in St. Augustine and takes pride in serving the community that she was raised in and that her family has called home for over 5 generations.

Jeremiah Mulligan, Esq.

Jeremiah Mulligan is a seasoned attorney and North Florida native with over two decades of legal experience. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Flagler College in St. Augustine in 1998 and subsequently graduated with honors from the University of Miami School of Law. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 2005, Jeremiah began his legal career at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, where he discovered his passion for trial advocacy.

Upon returning to St. Augustine, Jeremiah transitioned into private practice, concentrating on Civil Litigation and Property Rights. His extensive litigation experience includes real estate disputes, construction defect claims, first-party insurance matters (both plaintiff and defense), failure to disclose cases, and business litigation. In addition to his legal practice, Jeremiah served for over three years as an adjunct professor in Flagler College’s Pre-Law Program, mentoring aspiring legal professionals.

Before joining Mowrey Law Firm, Jeremiah held the position of in-house counsel and Director of Business Operations for an international automation company with offices in the United States and Japan. Since re-entering private practice, he has become a key member of Mowrey Law Firm, leading the firm’s Litigation division. He is known for his dedication to client advocacy and his commitment to seeing cases through trial.

Jeremiah resides near the beach in St. Augustine with his family. A strong advocate for community involvement, he has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the Ancient City Soccer Club and the St. Augustine Society. Outside of his legal work, he enjoys coaching youth football and soccer and traveling to support his children in their competitive sports endeavors.
